I am using this description because, honestly, doesn’t life feel like trying to stand up in the ocean? Some days we are pounded by big waves, and some days we are rocked by small waves.
In the same way that what we physically eat affects our body and our health, what we feed our mind affects us spiritually. If we never spend time with God and study His word, how can we grow spiritually?
Jesus didn’t have to be nailed to a cross. He didn’t have to tolerate people spitting on him. He didn’t have to withstand the beatings. But He did. He submitted to His Father’s will and died in our place.
Each morning that I wake up, every breath that I take, every beat of my heart, the ability to walk and run, being able to see my husband and my children and all the beautiful things God has made, the ability to hear the voices of my family, the ability to talk and communicate… all of it is a gift from God.
