So Many Questions

So Many Questions

By F. D. Adkins

In the book of Job, we read about a man faithful to God, yet this man suffered great loss and pain. In the midst of his troubles, Job did not understand that it was Satan causing this pain and suffering. Job believed he was being punished unjustly by God, and Job had questions. In Job 31:35, Job exclaims, “Oh that one would hear me! Behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that my adversary had written a book” (KJV).

Sometimes, it is difficult to understand and accept why things happen (or don’t happen). Sometimes, our human brains, fueled by our emotions, want answers. Sometimes, we have so many questions.

Maybe, God does not answer a prayer in the way we want. Perhaps, God is saying wait when we think he isn’t hearing us at all, or maybe our request does not align with what He knows is best. After all, He does know the future, and we do not. Yet, our human nature is impatient and wants answers now, especially in today’s age where technology makes us wait for nothing,

In my Bible verse for last week, Paul addresses those questions we have. In 1 Corinthians 13:12, Paul writes, “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known” (KJV). While we are on this earth, we may not have all the answers, but one day when we meet our SAVIOR face to face, we will understand. God knows all, and one day we will understand ourselves and know ourselves as God does.

For now, we cling to TRUTH and trust our SAVIOR until that day when we meet HIM face to face.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9 KJV
