Pray… All The Time

Pray… All The Time
Pray... All The Time

This past week, we have been having issues with our internet service. The signal has been intermittent. One minute we have service, and the next minute we don’t which makes it difficult if you have work to do that requires a connection. For example, my son was trying to take a final exam for one of his college classes, and the wi-fi wouldn’t connect. Thankfully, it came back on long enough for him to get it completed. However, the next day, my daughter was trying to write an essay and finally had to give up.

Today, as I was talking to my mom, we started a conversation about prayer and how talking to God helps us get through each day. When we hung up the phone, I was making a plan for the day since I had to work around the appointment for the technician to repair our internet, and I drifted back to the discussion I had just had on the phone about praying. My thought was, “What a blessing that connection never goes out.” I can talk to God anytime and anywhere.  And, just as my mother put it, I can’t imagine trying to get through the day without having my Heavenly Father to talk to.

When does the Bible say to pray? Here are a few verses that answer that question. (Note the underlined words.”

  • “Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.” Romans 12:12 KJV
  • “Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV
  • Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.” Colossians 4:2 KJV
  • “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.” Ephesians 6:18 KJV
  • “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Philippians 4:6 KJV

I think these verses make it clear that we should pray all the time … in the good times and the bad times, on the mountains and in the valleys, in the car and kneeling by our bed, at home and at work, … all the time.

No internet connection required…

Our Father is always there… always connected to our hearts.

IT IS not something a human …. a Saved & rescued child of GOD …. can get their head completely around this idea.

The idea that the Author of The Bible, The Creator of ALL things, The Savior of Everything …. wants to walk with me…. and talk with me…. and have an intimate relationship with me.

Every moment, of every single day….. of my life….

Its almost like looking at a beautiful mountain, or ocean, or sunset, or sunrise…. and you can barely take it in…. such beauty. That leaves you without words. But yet, something sings deep within your heart at the overwhelming beauty & granduer.

Something too…. the idea that The God of Heaven would sit & wait for me just to come & talk. And listen. And speak to me.

Wow …… there are simply no words to express how amazing that is. And oh, sometimes … often times …. I take that so much for granted.

Thank you God … that YOU wants this from us & for us…

But then… as a parent, Farrah…. you must fully understand this.
