An Intricate Design

This past week, my family and I were on vacation, and as we sat in the hotel one night flipping through the channels, some sort of science program was on. I have no idea the name of the program or the channel the show was on because it was only a moment before we clicked on to the next channel. But I remember this program expressing how the origin of life began with an explosion or something like that. I apologize because I did not absorb the details other than the certainty in the narrator’s voice that this was how humankind came to be.

The next morning, as I sat on the bus with my family headed for the park, this little baby riding on her mother’s lap caught my eye. The child was probably about four months old, and she had bright blue eyes and a big smile. As the bus moved along, the child was extending her arms reaching for the lady next to her.

From there, I began looking around at the different people on the bus… not staring, just taking in the array of people. And then, I flipped through the camera roll on my phone looking at the various pictures I had taken of some animal friends so far on our trip. (If you are familiar with my previous blog posts, then you know I love animals, and I love taking photos of them.) Anyway, as I studied the pics on my phone and took in the people on the bus, I couldn’t help but be flabbergasted by the idea that all of these species with all of their complex diversity could originate from some kind of explosion that caused a tiny something to evolve into all these diverse life forms.

In the above photo, I included my animal friends that I had the pleasure of encountering on my trip, and I am going to leave you with five verses of TRUTH because I know our Heavenly Father made you, me, and every critter in my photo. How do I know that? I know because I have had a personal experience with Jesus. I have felt Him tug at my heart. I have realized that I can’t make it without Him in charge of my life. I feel His presence in my heart, and I feel His comfort in the storms. And if I need to take a scientific approach, I don’t think it is possible that you or I came from nothing more than a speck that evolved through time. Look at our body, our brain, our capability to communicate, and our ability to perform multiple tasks at once. Something this intricate could not derive without a well-planned design. For example, if I analyze myself at this very instant, I am sitting here typing, thinking about what I am writing, all of my body systems are working together to keep me alive, and my brain is sending signals through my body giving instructions. I have maintained focus as I have paused to help my son with his college class schedule including switching to another screen to drop and add a college course for him, and I have picked right back up where I left off without hesitation.

Even with as much knowledge as humans have, we could not create something as complex as our body with its many cells divided comprising organs and systems that work together. Sure, we have come up with some high-tech computer technology, but that technology does not work on its own. A programmer has to tell it what to do. Add to all of this the fact that we reproduce. No doubt, the human body contains some serious engineering.

The Bible is full of verses detailing God as our Creator, but I am going to list five. Read them, study them, memorize them, and cling tightly to them.

  • “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” John 1:3 KJV
  • “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.” Colossians 1:16 KJV
  • “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” Genesis 1:27 KJV
  • “Thou, even thou, art Lord alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.” Nehemiah 9:6 KJV
  • “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” Revelation 4:11 KJV

The Holy Bible is TRUTH. All things were created by Him. What more is there to say?

YES! The Bible is Truth. God’s Words to us. Not only is the proof of our Creator all around us in the intricate design of every aspect of life, but the Bible is also historically accurate and full of prophecies fulfilled hundreds of years after they were recorded in the Old Testament. And the Bible says Jesus is coming back. Let’s be ready and watching!
